Director Kendrick Freeman

Kendrick Freeman is the Director of the Smith County Community Supervision and Corrections Department, also known as Adult Probation.

He began his career with the Smith County Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) in December 2006, as a supervision officer. Over the years, he has served the department in several key roles, including Court Officer for County Court at Law #3 and, most recently, as a Department Supervisor, a position he held for five years.

In September 2025, following the retirement of former Director Janet Fugler, Freeman was selected by the Council of Judges to serve as the new Director of Smith County CSCD. He is committed to building a department that promotes accountability, growth and positive change throughout Smith County.

Adult Probation is under the direction of the Smith County Council of District and County Court at Law Judges. The department had about 65 employees.
